ILA/ACRL Ballot 2026

Announcing our slate of candidates for ILA-ACRL Office (voting Oct.29 – Nov. 7)

Plans are underway for the election of the ILA-ACRL Executive Board officers to take place Oct. 29 – Nov. 7, 2024.  You’ll receive an email and link to the ballot when the voting period is open later this fall.  You may request a paper ballot if you prefer.

Once the election has ended we’ll announce results via the ILA-ACRL mailing list and post to our website. If you have questions or requests for paper ballots, please email Membership Committee Chair Kris Stacy-Bates (kksb@iastate.edu).

On behalf of the Membership Committee, I am pleased to announce the results of election of officers for 2025-2026.

Kris Stacy-Bates, Research Services Librarian at the Iowa State University Library was elected to serve as Vice-President/President-Elect. Kris has been active in ILA-ACRL for more than 27 years serving in various roles. Most recently, Kris chaired the Conference Planning Committee that hosted the joining IPAL/ACRL annual conference at Parks Library at Iowa State in May 2024.

Sheri Muller, Access Services Librarian and Archivist at Grand View University, was elected to be the ACRL Secretary/Treasurer for 2025-2026. Sheri has served on ILA committees and also served as the chair of the Special Libraries Roundtable. Last summer, she completed a 7-year stint as the secretary for the Central Iowa Collaborative Collections Initiative (CI-CCI).

Lauren Claeys, Cataloger at the University of Iowa Libraries, was elected to serve as Member At-Large for 2025-2026. Lauren was the 2023 recipient of ILA/ ACRL’s Mary Iber Spring Conference Scholarship Award and she participated in the 2024 ILA Leadership Institute.

Ballots for the election of Iowa ARL officers were sent out to all active Iowa ACRL members on Wednesday, October 30. The voting period will run from October 30, beginning at 8:00 a.m., until Friday, Nov. 8, at 5:00 p.m. If you did not receive a ballot and believe that you should have, please check the following: Did you update your email address recently? Ballots were sent to whatever email you use for ILA business. This may or may not be your work address. Check your spam filter. Emails were sent from a uiowa.edu address and the subject line references the ILA/ACRL election. Please contact me to get a paper ballot or to check on your ACRL membership status.
