    Academic Libraries in Iowa encounter numerous barriers in their efforts to best serve their communities. The greatest among these today are dwindling budgets and shrinking staff sizes. At the same time, we remain committed to reducing any barriers our patrons may encounter as they seek to access our physical spaces, collections, and services. During our time together, we not only will address the barriers that stand in the way of academic success, but more importantly creatively strategize how we might work to overcome these obstacles in our libraries and our profession.

    The Awards Committee of ILA/ACRL invites applications for the Public Relations/Marketing Award. You can see the application requirements and submission form here. Submissions are due April 1, 2023, and the announcement of the winner will occur at the ILA/ACRL Spring Conference.

    Speaking of the conference, be sure to submit your proposal for a lightning round or 50-minute presentation here. Mark your calendar, and we look forward to seeing you in Dubuque!

    2023 Mary Iber Spring Conference Scholarship Application

    The Awards Committee of ILA/ACRL invites applications for the Mary Iber Spring Conference Scholarship. You can see the application requirements and submission form here. Submissions are due April 17, 2023 (EXTENDED  to) April 21, 2023, and the winner will be notified at least two weeks before Spring Conference.

    • Please consider applying for the Public Relations/Marketing Award. 
    • This year’s conference, “Breaking Barriers,” will be held May 24-25 and is hosted by Loras College Library in Dubuque, Iowa. Be sure to submit your proposal for a lightning round or 50-minute presentation here.
