ILA ACRL's Professional Development Committee is proud to host Modern Pathfinders: Easy Techniques to Make Better Research Guides, an ACRL e-learning webinar next Wednesday, July 20th from 1-2 p.m. at Iowa State University's Parks LibraryDrake University's Cowles Library and the University of Iowa's Main Library

Webinar Description:

Librarians put many hours into creating research guides, and usage studies have shown that students use them very little. Learn some effective techniques of instructional design and web usability that any librarian can apply to make online guides better and more useful to your students, whether you’re using LibGuides or a home-brew system.

Iowa State details: The webinar will be hosted in 31 Parks Library, located at 710 Morrill Road on the ISU campus.  Parking is available at the ISU Memorial Union parking ramp for a fee.  Driving directions are here and a campus map is here.  Room 31 is downstairs and to the right from the main stairs.  Questions?  Contact Kris Stacy-Bates at 515-294-6819.

Drake details: The webinar will be shown in Cowles Library Room 45. Cowles Library is located on the north side of University Avenue and 28th Street in Des Moines, Visitor parking is available on University Avenue and the surrounding streets. Enter the library through the north doors, go down the half-flight of stairs and through the double doors to the right. University of Iowa details: The webinar will be shown at the Main Library (125 W. Washington St.) in room 2032 (second floor, southeast corner). Go past the service desk and enter the center of the building to get to the upper floors. Parking is available to the south of the Main Library (metered so not recommended) or Capitol Street Ramp (City owned) or IMU Ramp (UI owned).
