I wanted to extend an invitation to librarians across the state to visit our new high density storage facility! We will be having an open house from 9am to 3pm on Friday, December 9th and all are welcome to stop by for tours and light refreshments. The address is 2515 Independence Road in Iowa City. You can contact me with questions! Hope to see you there! Amy Paulus
Please join me in thanking Ericka Raber, Kate Hess, and Bruce Gilbert for presenting on "Open Educational Resources and Libraries: Promotion and Support".I'd also like to recognize Mark Anderson, Claudia Frazer, and Onnica Marquez for also presenting on "21st Century Archives". Both sessions were well attended and well done!
This is the first year for this joint committee with the Iowa Association of School Librarians (IASL). Val Ehlers, our IASL Co-Chair, and our committee members have hit the ground running.

Diversity is an issue that is inherent and essential to librarianship. It impacts the communities we serve, the profession of librarianship, and the mission of libraries. Diversity is a Key Action Area for the American Library Association (ALA), and its prioritization is shown not only through the existence and activities of the ALA Office for Diversity, Literacy and Outreach Services, but also through the various committees, roundtables, interest groups, and initiatives organized by ALA affiliates, divisions, and state organizations (American Library Association, n.d.).
